  • Rigid Gas Permeables (RGPs)

  • Rigid gas permeable contact lenses (RGPs) are often called hard lenses by some, but they are actually made partly of silicone, which makes them more flexible than outdated hard lenses. The silicone is oxygen permeable, keeping the cornea extremely healthy. Modern RGPs allow more oxygen to reach the cornea than some soft contact lenses.

RGPs affords patients higher quality vision than soft lenses because of the material, durability, and more deposit resistance than soft contact lenses. And because they’re gel-like in nature, you can’t tear them easily, like soft lenses.
